Kindergarten Readiness: Creating a Solid Foundation for Your Child’s Future Academic Success

Early Preschool Math Preparation: Understanding and Using Math Concepts and Skills

Strong math skills are important to your child’s academic future. Our math program ensures that preschoolers are already familiar and comfortable with math concepts that they will be using in kindergarten and beyond. Valuable pre-math and math readiness concepts are learned, such as :

  • Knowing numbers and  understanding number sense
  • Mastering the use of math terms such as less than, more than and equal to
  • Counting objects using one-to-one correspondence
  • Using interesting math manipulatives that build and strengthen logical thought
  • Geometry concepts such as recognizing and using patterns, identifying shapes and learning the individual features of each
  • Understanding spatial relations and accurately using terms such as near and far, in front of, behind and beside

Math lessons are made fun and interactive as well as educational through the use of play-led activities such as exciting puzzles and math games. Our preschool math curriculum nurtures and strengthens the natural curiosity that young children have towards math by allowing them to experience math concepts in ways that make them real, accessible and interesting to little learners.

Because young children learn best by doing, hands-on math activities are used. Learned math skills are also reinforced through talking, reasoning and exploration, teaching children that math is all around them and fostering a deep understanding and enjoyment of math concepts and skills.
